
Chapter Officers
President
Lexi Urbanz

Lexi is a Junior Animal Science major on the Pre-professional track with a minor in General Business. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Sorority, Pre-Veterinary Society, Terps Raising Pups, AGNR Student Council, and the RecWell Fitness Team. Her career goal is to go to veterinary school for small or mixed animal medicine as she has a soft spot for dairy cattle. Last summer she interned at an equine hospital in New York and this summer she worked as an Emergency Veterinary Assistant at a specialty hospital in Connecticut.
Vice President
Katie Grow

Katie is Junior Animal Science major on the Pre-professional track with a minor in Entomology. She is the president of the Pre-Veterinary society, and the vice president for both Sigma Alpha and the One Health club. She is also a member of the university honors student board, an honors ambassador, an ANSC peer mentor and TA for Anatomy lab. Her career goal is to pursue her dream of attending vet school and possibly specialize in internal medicine. This past summer, Katie worked as a veterinary technician in the Internal Medicine Department at Veterinary Referral Associates, and as technician at Quince Orchard Veterinary Hospital.

Julianne Vengroski

Julianne is a Junior Animal Science major on the Care and Management track. She is the Recruitment chair for Sigma Alpha and the Ag Day Coordinator for AGNR Student Council. Her career goal is to spend time traveling and exploring agriculture outside of Maryland before she pursues her DVM in large animal medicine. This past summer, Julianne worked on the University of Maryland's campus farm and Fox Hollow Farm in Gaithersburg, MD.
Secretary
Lindsey Do

Lindsey is a senior Animal Science major on the Pre-professional track. She is also a member of the Pre-Veterinary Society and the Maryland Equestrian club. She is a TA for ANSC103 and ANSC105. She would like to pursue veterinary medicine and specialize in reproductive science. This past summer she worked at the Przygrodska Lab at the ANSC department, at Friends of Rabbits Rescue, and at the MD State Fair Birthing Center.
Historian
Esther Baum

Esther is a Junior Animal Science major on the Pre-professional track with a minor in General Business. She is a member of Sigma Alpha, Mishelanu, and is active at the University of Maryland Hillel. Her goal is to pursue a career in the Dairy industry with the possibility of obtaining her DVM in large animal medicine. This past summer, Esther travelled to Europe, took an accounting course and she shadowed a dairy cattle extension specialist.
Ag Council Representative
Maddie Gilmore

Maddie is a Junior Animal Science major on the Pre-professional track. She is a member of the Pre-vet society, Club Climbing, Terps raising pups. She is also a TA for ANSC103 and an RA at courtyards. This past summer, Maddie worked at the Central Maryland Research Extension Center with dairy cattle. She was apart of the dairy exhibit team where she competed in shows as well as learned how to be a dairy judge. In addition, she interned as a human resources coordinator where she advertised job opportunities and set up interviews.
Ag Day Coordinator
Ethan Harris

Ethan is a Junior Animal Science who transferred to UMD from LSU. At LSU, he was in Block & Bridle and volunteered at the Baton Rouge Zoo. This past summer, Ethan interned with Maddie at the Central Maryland Research Extension Center with dairy cattle. He, too, showed dairy cattle at both the Howard County Fair and Maryland State Fair. He also is proficient in the husbandry of beef cattle after taking Racheal Slattery's Beef Management course.
Chapter Advisors
Dr. Monica VanKlompenberg

Dr. Monica VanKlompenberg aka Dr. VK has been a Faculty Advisor for the Block and Bridle Club since 2017. She is a Lecturer and Internship Coordinator in the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences at UMD. Her goal as the club advisor is to provide support and guidance to help each of the officers and club members achieve their goals. Dr. VK is a strong advocate for providing club members with hands-on opportunities and professional development skills. As a former member of the Block and Bridle Club at Michigan State University as an undergraduate, Dr. VK advocates for this club's goals and for its members!
Racheal Slattery

Racheal Slattery is the coordinator for Dairy and Beef extension activities for the University of Maryland. She also teaches the Dairy Cattle Judging course here at UMD! She has wonderful connections in the agriculture and livestock industry.
