Mary Cate Parent

Mary Cate is a senior Animal Science major who just accepted a job offer from Perdue. She will be working as a Live Management Trainee and will be starting after she graduates in the spring. She is looking forward to growing within the poultry industry as she would like to fall into a Flock Advisor position, and then be promoted to a Hatchery Manager.

Kaitlyn Drew

Kaitlyn is a senior Animal Care and Management major from Gaithersburg, MD. She has shown in her local 4H for 5 years and volunteers at the fair every summer. Outside of school she likes to draw, write, and play video games such as Harvest Moon, Pokemon, and The Sims.

Robyn Penn

Robyn is a junior Animal Science major on the Care and Management track. She also has a minor in French. Her career goal is to be a caretaker for farm animals or to pursue veterinary medicine for farm animals.

Emma Kellenberger

Emma is a senior Animal Science major with a sustainability minor hoping to work in conservation or as a laboratory animal technician after graduation. She hopes to go back to school for a masters after taking a gap year. This summer she spent her time working in the Animal Research Facility on campus as well as in Dr. Keefer's Lab. â€‹

Holly Bland

Holly is a senior Animal Science major applying to veterinary school this year. She hopes to study large animal medicine and loves working with sheep, goats, and cows. This summer she spent her time working at a small animal vet clinic and going for ride-alongs with a large animal vet.

Nyla is a junior Animal Science major and her goal is to be a nutritionist for large animals and exotics.

Anthony Righter

Anthony is a sophomore Environmental Horticulture major with a minor in Entomology. He is also a brother of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He has been in 4H for 12 years and is now a certified volunteer. He grew up riding horses, showing livestock, and collecting insects in his hometown of Boyds, MD. His career goal is to be an Integrated Pest Management Scout.

Dr. Monica VanKlompenberg

Dr. Monica VanKlompenberg aka Dr. VK has been a Faculty Advisor for the Block and Bridle Club since 2017.  She is a Lecturer and Internship Coordinator in the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences at UMD. Her goal as the club advisor is to provide support and guidance to help each of the officers and club members achieve their goals. Dr. VK is a strong advocate for providing club members with hands-on opportunities and professional development skills.  As a former member of the Block and Bridle Club at Michigan State University as an undergraduate, Dr. VK advocates for this club's goals and for its members!

Racheal Slattery

Racheal Slattery is the coordinator for Dairy and Beef extension activities for the University of Maryland. She also teaches the Dairy Cattle Judging course here at UMD! She has wonderful connections in the agriculture and livestock industry.
